What made me go to a sathsang, very simple it was a lazy day and had nothing to do, had not visited the temple for long(that's very bad considering that i own the puthur temple community in orkut :O).So i thought how about something different, how about 1.5 hrs of something i have never done before.
So it went something like this : the orator was a young man very much in his twenties,He came half an hour late, first 10 minutes recited some shlokas in Sanskrit(no clue what). Then he started
first few minutes was spent in describing how special was the month of dhanu(dec-jan), how it was special for gods, and humans equally, wake up early in this time, pray more and all those things...not much of a take away for me.
then he explained that sathsang was not something to be done for time pass(was he referring to me??? - but i was here with an open mind so its ok).
Then came the points:
1. In the world there is a lot of grief, both natural and man made. The natural ones include earthquake, storms etc. The man made grief circles around anxiety, jealousy, hatred..somethings like that...each and every person will have some grief or the other.
My thought - Yup very true..
2. In spite of all the grief, there is a time of day when the person feels no grief whatsoever, in his sleep, where he is no one, he has no grief, he has no body.
This state is called - sushupthi
My thought - ya, true again. note:sushupthi
3. So this means that all the grief in the world is something which is only there when we realize it is there, when we feel we are a person with a body and a status, and aspirations to become something we are not and try hard for that --- only then do problems arise, in sleep man does none of these so no problem. In short, to attain true happiness one should attain state if sushupthi always.
My thought - by sleeping whole day? :O
Reply - This does not mean one should sleep the whole day, what one should do is to control his actions and thoughts such that he can retain the state of sushupthi.
My thought - ok ok, but how?
4. He continued, every person only if he understands that his body, his status, his needs, his expectations, everything that he sees when he is not sleeping is 'maya'. he should never yearn to be better, be sad that he is not good.Only thing is that he should keep doing things god has destined him to do, without ever falling for 'maya'.
'maya' will keep you happy only till age of 40 or so, after then you will realize that what you gained, by going through pain was nothing as in it never existed!
My thought - So what am i supposed to do to experience the truth-ultimate happiness.
On an average day i have a few disappointments from my material life, my wishes, my expectations etc.But i also gain a handful of joy, pleasure and cheers from the same.
If he is saying that i should stop going behind fame, money, and material things just because it wont bring you the true joy; which will be realized by me after 20 years..not convincing enough :(.I guess i will have to regret after 20 years, unless my search for truth continues and i get a better answer.

Outsourcing jobs
Recently saw this video about 30 Days of outsourcing courtesy my friend. It was the story of a US software engineer who lost his job to outsourcing. He comes to India where his job has been outsourced to find what it is like to work in India for US.
The video is good, at least it gives a overall picture of outsourcing, how it affects both the people and the corporations of both outsourcing nation and the outsourced nation, I hope the term i used makes sense.
He makes the following findings..
1. he lost his job not because he was less talented, but because Indians were much cheaper and very much flexible.
2. the job which was feeding about 3 in his family, is feeding about 6 in his family and making fortunes for them.
He goes back happy seeing that the people here need hos job more than himself. Makes me think, am i here just because i am cheap?? so anyone cheaper than me means i am done? oops!.
